About Me

Hello and thank you for browsing and shopping at Paracord Joe®. My name is Joe Barnes and I am Paracord Joe®.

Here is a little bit about myself:

First and foremost, every thing I do and every thing I am is because of my Lord and Savior, Jesus. I graduated high school from Hobbs High School in Hobbs, NM back in 1993. From there I joined the United States Marine Corps and earned the title of United States Marine. I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for most of my enlistment and was able to travel all around God’s beautiful Earth. Before leaving the Marine Corps I earned the rank of Sergeant. After the Corps I moved to Lubbock, TX and found the love of my life, Melanie. We married in 1998 and God has blessed us with a wonderful marriage and two outstanding kids. I have the best job in the world and have the most outstanding co-workers. The company I work for is Training Camp. We offer accelerated computer certification training. I also have a black miniature schnauzer named Lucy. She is awesome!

Things I like to do:

I love saltwater fishing.

I’m a big Apple geek/fan, love Apple electronics, well, really any electronics.

My passion is helping other. I really enjoy doing mission work and giving back to others.

I enjoy helping people with their finances and getting them out of debt. I’m a big Dave Ramsey fan!

The reason why I started Paracord Joe®:
1. Pay our house off. We are a debt free family except for our house.
2. Show our kids how to start/run a business. I want my kids to be little entrepreneurs.
3. GIVE!!! God has given me and my family way more than we deserve. This business gives us a way to give to others and help other.

Update 5-13-2013: We have now been in business for over a year. As mentioned above on number 1 we wanted to make some extra money to put towards our house. Now look at number 3. God had different plans in mind for our first year; all most all of our profit we gave away...and it was AWESOME! We cannot wait to see what is in store for us this year.
